The possibility to celebrate the wedding ceremony and hold the reception celebrations, without changing the location or transferring the guests, is the unique feature we offer.
WHERE WILL YOU SAY I DO?
The entire premises of the La Costa dei Barbari are available to the bride and groom. So you are free to choose the exact spot where you want to have your wedding ceremony.
Elegant and sophisticated on the beautiful terrace with its stunning sea view.
In the gazebos among the dunes of the private beach.
Barefoot on the beach, in total harmony with nature.
In the function room for receptions, in an intimate setting inside the picture windows.
The civil rite is celebrated on the premises, since La Costa dei Barbari is licensed by the municipality. The bride and groom have total freedom in choosing the day and time to celebrate their wedding. A civil wedding can be organized in about a month.
Of course, you can also organize the celebration of symbolic rites, which allow the bride and groom total freedom to design their own ceremony, choose the readings, the form of dress and everything else. A symbolic ceremony has no legal value (for the state) or sacramental value (for the Church).
ITER CIVIL WEDDING – COMUNE DI VIAREGGIO
If the couple are resident in the same municipality in Italy, one of the future spouses should go to the Civil Registration Office with a power of attorney from the other, or a third party can go with powers of attorney from both spouses, to request publication of the banns. If the couple are resident in different municipalities, the municipality that is chosen first will initiate the paperwork in the second.
The municipality, after carrying out checks, publishes the banns. This is a notice announcing the intention to marry and the place of celebration of the wedding, and will be displayed for 8 days in both municipalities where the future married couple are resident.
Three days after the banns are taken down, the Civil Registration Office, issues the “nullaosta” or certificate of no impediment to marriage. The wedding can then be celebrated within 180 days from the end of the publication of the banns.
Armed with the certificate of no impediment and the identification documents of the future spouses and all witnesses, it is then possible to go to the Civil Registration Office in the municipality of Viareggio to book the date and time to celebrate the ceremony at La Costa dei Barbari.
ITER FOR PARTICULAR CASES
For non-Italian citizens who are resident in Italy
The certificate of no impediment (nullaosta) or certificate of legal capacity to marry is issued by the diplomatic authorities of the country or countries of origin.
If there is no international exemption agreement between Italy and the country or countries of nationality of the bride or groom, the certificate of no impediment (nullaosta) must first be legalized at an Italian prefecture. If the foreign national does not speak Italian, he or she must have an interpreter present both when requesting the publication of the banns, and also when the marriage ceremony is celebrated. As a result of the coming into force of security laws, it is necessary to produce a valid document attesting to the person’s stay in Italy.
For Italian citizens resident abroad
If the bride and groom are both resident abroad and are entered in the AIRE (the register of Italian citizens resident abroad), the banns are published by contacting the Italian Consulate for the territory of residence. If either the bride or groom is resident abroad and is entered in the AIRE, and the other is resident in Italy, the banns can be published at either the Consulate or at the municipality of residence, indiscriminately. However, it is preferable to publish them where the wedding will be celebrated.
Documents required: Passport (for non-EU citizens), passport or national identity card (for EU citizens), certificate of no impediment (nullaosta) or certificate of legal capacity to marry.
